FACETS OF THE FURNACE MISSIONS BASE
This missions base exists to raise up radical missionaries in the midst of a global, day and night, worship and prayer movement whose hearts are empowered to go to the ends of the earth fulfilling the mandate of the Great Commission.
The Prayer Furnace (an international house of prayer)
A citywide, worship and prayer ministry, serving the Body of Christ in the Chicagoland region fashioned in the spirit of the Tabernacle of David. It incorporates a set-aside prayer room where we focus on ministering to the Lord day and night, crying out for His worth to be made known throughout the nations, fueling revival in the church and praying for transformation throughout the region and the world. The Prayer Furnace provides internships and staff training.
Healing Room
This room, connected to the prayer room is set aside to pray for the sick during certain times of the day. Those in need of healing spend time soaking in the presence of the Lord in the prayer room and then receive individual focused prayer in the healing room. We also want to have traveling healing teams that can go out and pray for the sick on location.
Conferences and Events
We desire to serve our region and the Midwest by providing a variety of equipping conferences and events that will empower those attending to posture their hearts before the Lord in such a way that will sustain fervent love. We host "Made2Blaze" weekends that are intended to sow into a great awakening of love, revival for our city, nation, and nations of the earth. Each speaker carries a weight, authority and keys for particular doors that unlock our hearts to pursue God deeper and further.
Future plans:
Missions/Outreach Center
This is a launching center to equip teams in ministry and to cover them as they initiate new ministries (ie. houses of prayer, churches and missions work) throughout the Midwest and the nations. Also, it would serve as a hub of activity for the many outreach and mercy teams being sent out daily from the missions base. This center will take care of those in need in our own community and neighborhood by providing food and clothing pantries, as well as possible temporary housing shelters for the homeless. All FMB ministry to the poor would come from the missions/outreach center. We also plan on starting an orphanage that would provide an opportunity to raise children in the context of the house of prayer and a loving community.
Furnace School of Ministry
A training center and bible school that would serve as a center of instruction and hands on experience that equips a generation to take the message of the burning heart of God, bridal intimacy, and transformation. It serves to advance the developing prayer, worship and missions movement in our region by providing training for urban intercessory missionaries. The Training center will eventually offer 1 and 2 year degrees with options for several different tracks, including a School of Worship.
Resource Center/Bookstore/Recording Studio
This would be a fully functional resource center/bookstore providing materials (books and music) from a variety of authors and ministries specifically centered around themes that equip believers to live empowered by God's ravished heart of love for us and that will prepare us for the end of the age. State of the art, digital recording facilities enabling young psalmists to record and produce music from the heart of God geared to kindle a heart of passion in the listeners. Staff and interns will have access to record projects that carry the spirit of revival and are anointed to open the heavens, beckoning the invasion of God's presence.
Coffeehouse
We eventually want to start a small Christian coffeehouse that will provide physical refreshment for a day and night community while providing an atmosphere to fellowship and meet others from the neighborhood and the many churches of our city.
Job Co-op
This is a developing idea for a co-op of our staff with many different skills and trades who work under this covering to provide some part-time income support for themselves as intercessory missionaries. A Job Co-op list/advertisements will be given to area churches, families, friends and contacts in hopes that they may be willing to support those in the house of prayer by calling on them to provide given services.
Home Schooling Co-op
For many of us with families involved in the missions base, we want our children to be as involved as much as possible in the life of the house of prayer. This home-school co-op would be run by one or two overseeing part-time teachers with parents volunteering as aides. The co-op would be half-days, leaving time for our kids to be involved directly in the house of prayer.
A House of Friends/Housing for the Prayer Community
We believe the Lord is going to give us affordable housing, probably through larger apartment units in the city where those who desire can live in community together at an affordable rate. Housing is a huge issue in our city and if there were affordable alternatives, this would set our intercessory missionaries free from the massive financial strain of expensive housing options and allow them to be set before the Lord more readily.
